Christmas 2015

Christmas was very different this year.  Bryan had to work Christmas Eve night so we decided to just stay at the condo and make a traditional meal.  It was a beautiful 84 degree day so after opening gifts we headed to the beach.  The beach was crowded but the atmosphere was awesome.  It was nice to see families all out enjoying time together.  I know this may sound crazy but I could feel my Mother's presence with me.  I didn't really have a sad moment.  I will always miss her and I definitely missed spending Christmas with my Dad.  But I talked to Dad on the phone and he was cooking and taking lunch to my Aunt.

The beach is something we are going to make a tradition on Christmas Day.

We saw the best kind of snowman there is....a sandman!

We loved that someone thought to "plant" a Christmas tree in the sand.  I attracted a lot of picture takers.

After our time at the beach we came back to the condo and I began dinner.  I made crockpot turkey breast, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, brussel sprouts, cranberry sauce, shrimp ring, and bread.  I was so proud of myself!  Everything turned out delicious!

I think we truly made the best out of our Christmas.  In the future I'd love to see my Dad come down for the week.  This year he said that he just wasn't ready.  I can understand that.  Hopefully that'll change as the years go on.  We ended Christmas night with white chocolate macadamia nut cookies and coffee.
