This year we decided to stay in Jacksonville and celebrate the 4th at The Landing in downtown.  The Landing is an outdoor shopping area right on the river.  We had never been before so we were excited to see it.  We got there around 1730.  Parking was easier than I thought.  It wasn't that crowded yet.  We walked around for awhile to see what all there was.  The restaurants were all open.  A band played in the center area.

We decided to eat dinner at a Mexican restaurant called Cinco de Mayo.  The food was really good and very well priced.  It was also nice to go in a cool off.  It was an unbelievably hot day (nearing 100).  The Florida sun can be brutal.

After dinner we found a spot on the river front to watch the fireworks.  By this time it was extremely packed.  We managed to find a great view.  We had an awesome view of the Main St. bridge which lights up blue at night.  So pretty!

The fireworks started at 2145 and they were so pretty!  Unfortunately my point and shot camera was giving me a fit (the LCD is going bad) and I wasn't able to take very many pictures with it.  I had to switch over to my iPhone which I don't think takes great fireworks pictures. After the fireworks started a million bats were disturbed by the noise and they were flying around every where.  I felt so bad for them.

The show only lasted for about 15 minutes which seemed short to me but it was still nice and we had a good time.  We got back to our car around 2215 and noticed that it was still 95*.  This weather is so crazy.
