Staycation with Allison 2016- Day Two
We got up bright and early on Tuesday morning to head to Magic Kingdom. Allison only had one wish while she was here and that was to go to Magic Kingdom. We are annual pass holders so it was no problem for us. Any excuse to go to Disney is a good excuse to us. This was her first trip to Disney.
We arrived to the parking lot and took the shuttle over to the ticket entrance. Bryan and I had to deal with getting our annual passes done since this was our first visit. We received our cards. Allison wanted a Magic Band so she got her's purchased and linked to our account. With us being pass holders we get photopass downloads included. So we linked her up with us so all of the pictures would be free for her. See it pays to be friends (family) with us.....*wink wink*. We decided to take the ferry over to MK because it was less of a wait than the monorail. Here is Allison's very first picture inside of MK. She was so excited!
Besides seeing the castle her one and only character request was Alice. She is a HUGE Alice in Wonderland fan. So before we left I checked the schedule and sure enough she was going to be at the Mad Tea Party right when we arrived. I think this made her day!
After taking pictures with Alice and before heading over to our scheduled Fast Pass on Splash Mountain we stopped and watched a little of the Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire show. We caught mostly the end of it. Splash Mountain was our first ride of the day and was as fun as I remember. We got soaked! After the ride we had pictures taken by the photographers in front of the castle. For lunch Allison and I had burgers at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe and Bryan waited and had a huge hotdog at Casey's Corner. We had a pretty long rain storm which took some time away from us but we took that time to shop. Allison got a Alice Mickey ears hat and she started her lanyard/pin collection. I purchased two more Pandora charms for my second bracelet and also got pins. While Bryan was eating his hotdog we watched the Festival of Fantasy Parade.
After he finished eating we went over and rode the Tea Cups. Last time Bryan and I were at Disney this ride was closed for renovation. So it was Allison and Bryan's first time riding it. It was fun and faster than I remembered. We also rode Stitch's Great Escape since the line wasn't too long. Bryan at this point began to feel bad. It was very hot and even though we were drinking tons of water, he felt his medicine was sweating out. But we did want to try to ride Haunted Mansion
Making our way back over to the castle we stopped and watched the Move It! Shake It! Dance and Play It! Street Party. It was a little too hot for dancing.
We wanted to ride the Haunted Mansion but did not have fast passes so we checked it out and it said only 45 minutes. However when we got in line the air was so stagnant. Bryan actually ran out of the line in a panic. We followed him and he was really over heated and sick. So we went to Pinocchio Village Haus to sit down. Allison and I ordered pizza and I got Bryan a cold raspberry slushy in a Frozen cup. Olaf cheered him up and he said the drink hit the spot. We took our time and enjoyed our food. Allison's feet were also starting to swell at this point too. After fueling up and resting we made our way back over to the castle for the Wishes fireworks show. We sat very close to the castle so my pictures didn't turn out great but it was still a great show and still one of our favorites.
The park was open until midnight and the crowds started to disperse a little after Wishes so got a few more rides in. Pirates of the Caribbean and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. One ride we really didn't want to miss was the new Seven Dwarfs Train ride. We had fast passes but lost them when the ride closed half the day and didn't know if it would come back up. So we traded for another ride to keep from losing our FP. Unfortunately we waited nearly 90 minutes to ride this ride. Bryan was tired, I was tired, Allison's feet looked awful but we did it. And it was worth it! It was so fun!
We had a few minutes after riding the train ride to head over to Space Mountain for our last ride of the night. Allison opted out and waited for us at the front of the park. We had fast passes so it didn't take us long. We got out of the ride at 2359. We closed Magic Kingdom down!
We found Allison and rode the monorail over to the parking lot.
It was such a fun day but I am definitely not as young as I use to be. It really is not a good idea to go to the parks in July. Our heat is just unbearable and the park is just way too crowded. It is impossible to get everything done in a day so we had to just pick and choose what was important to us. But for her we'll do it again next year!
