Animal Kingdom-New Camera-October 2017
Last year my point and shoot died. It was a touch screen and the screen went bad. I didn't know if I wanted to replace it since I have two DSLR cameras. But they are big and bulky and not ideal for Disney. So my sweet hubby researched cameras for me and bought me this one. I love it! It takes great pictures and has an incredible zoom.
Since I wanted to try out my new camera I couldn't think of a better place than Animal Kingdom so went again this past Sunday. I know we just went but we were able to get fastpasses for Flight of Passage again.
One of the magic shots we were dying to get was Ka from The Jungle Book. So we ran over to Asia and got that first thing!
Our first ride of the day was our favorite Flight of Passage. I know I harp on this ride but I am officially stating that if this is the future of rides then I am excited. This ride is amazing! The picture below is us being "scanned" before getting on the ride. We are 7 and 8.
The next thing we did was the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trails. We saw gorillas, bugs, zebras, hippos, and birds. Next we went on the Kilimanjaro Safaris. I love this ride. Its very bumpy though so my camera did okay but some pictures came out very blurry. I did manage to get this great picture of the lions. We were also hoping to see Stella the baby elephant but she wasn't out. It was really hot and I think that makes a huge difference with whether the animals are out.
The next thing we did was the Maharajah Jungle Trek. This is another walking trail. We saw monkeys, tigers, and dragons. I was really hoping that we would get to see the baby tigers but they weren't out. It was late and I am sure they had already been put up for the night.
We had dinner reservations at Rainforest Cafe. Even with reservations that place was packed and we had to wait about 30 minutes for our table. I really love the ambiance of this restaurant. The food is good but nothing special.
Bryan initially ordered a dish that he wasn't happy with so he requested to send it back. He ended up getting the Awesome Appetizer Adventure which had chicken strips, chips and crab dip, mozzarella sticks, southwestern egg rolls, and a side of guacamole. I ordered the steak and shrimp. Our food was good but so expensive.
Before we called it a night we watched Tree of Life Awakenings and had our usual night pictures.
